Artists have always had a special place in my plaid little heart. For someone who every morning has difficulty picking out matching socks,  it simply amazes me when an individual can use their innate skill set to create a work of art. The pictures below are of a work done by a well known Washingtonian artist Nicole Backus. This was one of her recent murals for the room of a teenage girl. Extremely vibrant with the contrast of the black and assorted colors. What a lucky little lady to wake up each morning to such a full garden?

I want a Nicole Backus original mural for my room. I'm thinking a collage of my favorite things: Slurpees, bow ties, and a top hat wearing Chihuahua named Chauncey.
