A Gentleman Travels: Firefly Vodka Distillery
Dear Reader:
You'd have to be living under a rock if you haven't heard of Sweet Tea Vodka. Or maybe you've just been living under a bar stool and can't remember? I'm not judging, I've been there. Trust me.
Now coming in a variety of different flavors, my personal favorite is still the original. It reminds me of Summer afternoons with my Grandma, but with a swift kick. So I was overjoyed when during my recent visit to Charleston, I was able to stop by the Firefly Distillery. For $6, you can sample all of the vodka flavors including the new Firefly Lemonade which will officially reach shelves in 2010. (Believe me, its the worth the wait folks.) Even after your vodka tasting, you can head next door to Live Oak Wine-Irvin House Vineyards for a tasting of their muscadine grape showing for a mere $2.50.
$8.50 is probably the cheapest bar tab, I've ever had. But what makes this experience so unique is the genuine and gracious Southern hospitality and that my dear Reader is priceless.
